GeneAI

Our Mission

Genomicmedicine,borderless.

GeneAI was founded on a single conviction: that where you are born should not determine your access to life-changing genomic insight. We are building the infrastructure that makes advanced gene therapy intelligence available to every patient in the GCC — with the privacy, precision, and clinical integrity they deserve.

Mission

Building equitable access to advanced genomic medicine for the GCC

The GCC carries a significant burden of inherited genetic disorders — haemoglobinopathies, consanguinity-related recessive conditions, and familial cancers — yet the infrastructure to diagnose and manage these conditions with the rigour they demand has not kept pace with clinical need.

GeneAI closes that gap. By combining secure logistics, clinical-grade UK laboratory partnerships, and an AI interpretation layer, we deliver a complete genomic analysis pathway that begins and ends in the patient's hands.

Context

The Problem We Solve

Geographic Inaccessibility

World-class genomics laboratories are concentrated in the UK, Europe, and North America. GCC patients who need advanced sequencing face an opaque, fragmented journey with no trusted intermediary to manage logistics, compliance, or communication.

Population Data Underrepresentation

The majority of variant classification databases are built on European and North American cohorts. For Arabic, South Asian, and African GCC populations, this produces clinically significant inaccuracies in variant interpretation — missing pathogenic variants or misclassifying benign ones.

No Integrated Pathway

Even patients who find a UK laboratory face an uncoordinated experience — no consent management, no logistics protocol, no privacy architecture, no AI-assisted interpretation, and no structured report. GeneAI is the first platform to integrate all of these into a single governed workflow.

Method

Technology, Ethics, and Partnerships

Technology

AI that augments without replacing

The GeneAI Intelligence Engine is designed as a clinical support tool, not a diagnostic system. It identifies patterns, prioritises variants, and structures findings — presenting the output clearly labelled as informational, always subject to clinical review. We use transformer-based variant interpretation models trained on published genomic literature and continuously updated against the latest classification databases.

Ethics

Privacy as the starting point

Our double-blind anonymisation protocol ensures that no single party — not the UK laboratory, not the logistics carrier, not any GeneAI staff member — can link a sample to a patient without the patient's active participation in the re-identification process. Consent is digitally captured, versioned, and stored immutably.

Partnerships

Accreditation is non-negotiable

Every GCC collection laboratory and UK analysis laboratory in our network is vetted against defined accreditation standards — UKAS, ISO 15189, or equivalent national certification. Logistics partners hold medical-grade cold chain certification. We do not onboard partners who cannot meet these standards, regardless of commercial opportunity.

Governance Philosophy

Governance-first,
not compliance-last

Most technology platforms treat compliance as a final-stage concern — something to be satisfied before launch. GeneAI inverts this. Our governance architecture was designed before the first line of code was written.

We operate under dual-jurisdiction data governance — UK GDPR and GCC national health data frameworks — and have structured our operations to satisfy both simultaneously. This is difficult. It is also the only defensible way to operate in this space.

UK GDPR

All personal data handling complies with UK GDPR. Data Subject Rights are supported within the patient portal.

GCC Health Data Frameworks

We operate in alignment with Bahrain NHRI, Saudi MOH data standards, and UAE MOHAP regulations.

Informed Consent

Digitally captured, version-controlled consent is required before any sample is collected or processed.

Immutable Audit

Every platform action — from sample coding to report delivery — is written to a tamper-proof audit log.

The Team

Built by a Rare Combination

GeneAI is founder-led, combining clinical understanding of GCC genomics, machine learning engineering, and healthcare operational expertise.

Clinical & Scientific Direction

Genomics and gene therapy expertise ensuring clinical credibility of every process and output.

AI & Engineering

Machine learning systems built specifically for genomic variant interpretation and report generation.

Operations & Partnerships

Logistics, regulatory navigation, and partner network development across the GCC and UK.

Principles

Our Values

Transparency

We are explicit about what our platform does and does not do. Every AI output is clearly labelled as informational. Every process step is documented. We do not obscure complexity behind marketing language.

Patient-First

Every architectural decision, every partnership criterion, every compliance requirement is filtered through one question: does this protect and serve the patient? Commercial interests are never permitted to compromise this principle.

Scientific Integrity

GeneAI does not overstate the capabilities of AI in genomics. We build on published evidence, partner with accredited institutions, and maintain strict separation between AI-assisted insights and clinical conclusions.

Privacy by Design

Privacy is not a feature we added — it is the architectural foundation. Double-blind anonymisation, encrypted data transit, zero-knowledge logistics, and immutable audit trails are not optional: they are load-bearing.
